Privacy Policy
1. Summary
AgentOS is a local-first application. Your code, prompts, and model outputs stay on your Mac and are not transmitted to AgentOS-operated servers. The data described below is the minimum needed to sell you the Software, deliver updates, and respond to support requests.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Waitlist signups (agentos.tools)
When you submit your email to our waitlist, we store your email address with our newsletter provider (Buttondown). We use it solely to notify you when the founders price opens.
2.2 Purchases
When you buy a license, our payment processor (Paddle) collects your name, email, billing address, and payment details. Paddle acts as Merchant of Record and is the data controller for payment information; see Paddle's privacy policy. AgentOS receives only the data needed to issue and validate your license key: your name, email, country, and order ID.
2.3 Software updates
AgentOS checks for updates via Sparkle. The update check sends your AgentOS version, macOS version, CPU architecture, and a randomly generated anonymous installation ID to our update server. No personal data, code, or prompts are transmitted.
2.4 Local-only operation
AgentOS does not collect telemetry, usage analytics, or crash reports unless you explicitly opt in via Settings → Privacy. Your code and prompts never leave your Mac via AgentOS.
3. Sub-processors
We rely on the following third-party services:
- Paddle — payment processing and Merchant of Record
- Buttondown — waitlist email storage and delivery
- Cloudflare — website hosting, DNS, and update file delivery
4. Cookies
The agentos.tools website itself does not set tracking cookies. During checkout, Paddle may set session cookies necessary for payment processing — these are essential and do not require consent.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or other jurisdictions with comparable laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
6. Data retention
Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe. Purchase records are retained for 7 years as required by Danish bookkeeping law. Software-update telemetry is retained for 90 days, then aggregated.
7. Data transfers
Our sub-processors operate in the EU and the US under Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms.
8. Children
AgentOS is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes are noted at the top of this page with a new "Last updated" date.
